Tao Pendant

Tao Pendant

Taiji is the symbol of the interaction process of the two polarities yin (black / feminine) and yang (white / masculine) of the Chinese Taoist philosophy.

It is therefore the symbol of the highest conceivable concept of undifferentiated absolute.

It should be seen as a symbol in motion: reality is generated by the dynamic interaction of yin and yang which in turn contain within itself the potential of the opposite element.

Below is an excerpt from the Taoist philosophy book Tao te-ching:

“[…] I have three treasures that I keep and preserve.

The first is called meekness; the second is called moderation; the third is called not daring to be the first in the world.

By being meek, I can be brave; being moderate I can be liberal; not daring to be the first in the world, I can become master of all the tools. [...] "

Lao Tzu, Tao te-ching, LXVII
